Post from Renee Smith about our CEO & Founder Angel ❤️ There is plenty I can say about her, but the ONE thing that stands out to me the most about Angel is how she exemplifies that motto: Service above Self!
Angel is one of the most self-less people I have ever met. My buddy Kim was exactly the same way. So it's no wonder they were such a dynamic duo.
Since I've known Angel, I have seen how EVERYTHING she does, she does it to make someone else's life just a little bit better.
I have seen that with every blessing she receives, she uses it to bless others.
Even the smallest of her blessings, she gives to others – things that most of us take for granted.
Not many people know that for their birthdays, Kim and Angel would use the $$$ that they would have spent on each other to buy school supplies and toys and drive them across the border to Mexico & hand them out at orphanages.
Not many people know that when she goes on those weeks long trips to Puerto Vallarta, Angel will leave here with a stuffed backpack and suitcase, but she'll return with only the clothes on her back. After she wears & washes them, Angel will take all the clothes and shoes she brought with her from California to local villages to give them to the women and girls who need them more than she does.
Not many people know that Angel is a NON-paid CEO of California Families in Focus, and that she pours her own money into the organization to make up for any programming shortfalls.
Not many people know that she is an ordained minister who not only comforts grieving families when they lose a loved one, but that she has used her own funds to help families bury their loved ones in a dignified manner.
Angel does this NOT to make herself look good. But rather, she does it to better our community.
So, please keep in mind that whenever Angel reaches out to ask for anything, it is NOT for her. It is so that YOU and SHE can help enrich the lives of youth and their families, and to make this world just a little happier.
I'd like to thank everyone who came out today to celebrate Angel and for contributing to the blessings.
