A padrino is a positive role model and mentor who supports and inspires a young person through their life journey and guides them to a productive future. The Padrino Project provides a platform for trans and nonbinary youth and visionaries to empower themselves to find their purpose and use their voice to speak for the voiceless.

The Padrino Project is a leadership development program for trans and nonbinary students ages 17-18 who seek to continue the process of the VIP mentoring program through a LGBTQ+ lens. Supports (and challenges) are different for trans and nonbinary teens and we want to make sure they have an extra boost of self-esteem before they enter their 20s. One way is by letting them express themselves accurately through their clothing.
Qualifying students receive a custom-tailored suit called a “Power Suit” which includes shirts, shoes, socks, ties/bow ties and a full TRANSformation makeover.
The Padrino Project mentors are from the LGBTQ+ community or LGBTQ+ accepting and an ally to the community.
