CALIFORNIA FAMILIES IN FOCUS WELCOMES VOLUNTEERS OF ALL AGES THAT WANT TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THEIR COMMUNITY! WE PROVIDE COMMUNITY SERVICE AND SERVICE LEARNING HOURS TO HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH, COLLEGE STUDENTS AND COURT ORDERED YOUTH AND ADULTS, HOWEVER WE HAVE A SCREENING PROCESS AND FOLLOW THE MEGAN’S LAW GUIDELINES AND OUR ADULT VOLUNTEERS GO THROUGH A BACKGROUND CHECK, LIVESCAN AND FINGERPRINTING PROCESS AND ARE APPROVED BY A SELECTION COMMITTEE.

OUR VOLUNTEERS ARE GIVEN CERTIFICATES OF APPRECIATION FROM CALIFORNIA FAMILIES IN FOCUS, COMMUNITY ORGANIZATION AND ELECTED OFFICIALS AND EACH YEAR WE SELECT THE VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR AND PRESENT THEM WITH AN AWARD AT OUR ANNUAL SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS AWARDS BANQUET.

MOST IMPORTANTLY, OUR VOLUNTEERS RECEIVE AS MANY BLESSINGS AS THEY GIVE OUR NONPROFIT AND GAIN A LOVING FAMILY.

Our Service Learning program understands that our youth and young adults need to be connected to a work site that they are interested in and potentially be employed by. 

As a work site we do not provide a window-shopping opportunity, rather we offer our volunteers a hands-on experience to all that goes into planning special events, creating a program, a support group or a workshop. 

We also encourage them to roll up their sleeves and ask them for their input and to showcase their skills and talents and we offer our interns a platform to get their name out and be recognized for doing great work meeting the needs of our community. 

Our volunteers do not have an end date as we offer them opportunities to stay involved as volunteers, associate committee members or to chair an event that is close to their heart.

We also understand the importance of mentoring and we guide, help, and encourage them to seek out other community resources to help them lay a solid foundation for a successful future because when you have a loving community that helps streamline education to employment you help build a strong individual, which leads to a strong community.

Lastly, we encourage our volunteers to pay it forward and give to others what was given to them.
